Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, where she majored in Biology. After working as a microbiologist, she returned to the University of Cincinnati where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sarah spent her nursing career as an operating room nurse, specializing in general/vascular surgery, breast surgery, and orthopaedic surgery. Sarah continued her education at the University of Cincinnati where she graduated in December of 2014 with her Masters of Science in Nursing. There she focused in internal medicine and orthopaedics. She is a board certified Adult-Gerontologist Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her professional interests include spine and joint pain, rehabilitation, and increasing the quality of life for her patients. She has a special interest in peripheral joint and trigger-point injections. She aims to treat all patients with the utmost care and compassion.

Our Medical Director, Dr. Mukarram Khan, received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Anesthesia Residency and Fellowship in Pain Management at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Khan was named Chief Resident during his Anesthesia Residency.
Dr. Khan's philosophy is to provide comprehensive pain management to every patient. He utilizes evidenced based medicine and cutting edge procedures to provide the highest quality of care. Dr. Khan built the foundation for Advanced Spine & Pain Management around his core philosophy. He works with his staff and fellow providers to guarantee the highest quality of care.

Advanced Spine & Pain Management was founded in 2006 by Dr. Mukarram A. Khan, DO with the vision of creating a medical practice that treats every patient with dignity while tending to their pain needs. The nurse practitioners and office staff at Advanced Spine & Pain Management are highly trained and very knowledgeable. Our approach to pain is multifaceted, beginning with assuring precise diagnosis, implementing a full-range rehabilitation program involving physical therapy, massage, and minimally invasive procedures, and education on what can be done to prevent re-occurrence.
We believe that through individualized treatment plans and empowering patients, we give them the tools to better help themselves. We understand that for many, visiting a doctor can be a stressful experience. Our comfortable surroundings and compassionate medical professionals provide a positive experience.
Matthew Graduated from Thomas More College with his BA, Regis University Denver Colorado with his BSN, Northern Kentucky University with his MSN, NP. Matthew conducted clinical trials for pain and he has ten years clinical experience in pain management.
Katie completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky University. She has worked as a registered nurse in a hospital setting and also taught clinical rotations for Northern Kentucky University. Katie continued her education, obtaining a Master's of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky University in 2010, graduating Summa cum laude. She has obtained certification to practice as a Certified Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been practicing at ASPM since 2010. Katie has a passion for pain management. She loves to be a part of a team that helps patients decrease their pain and increase their activity, enabling them to have a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
