Spinal Cord Stimulator Trial

A Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) is an implantable system that delivers small electrical signals through a lead that is implanted in the epidural space. The lead can be placed in the neck, mid back or low back. Pain signals are inhibited before reaching the brain and are replaced by a tingling feeling. At our office, we perform a Spinal Cord Stimulator trial by implanting a temporary stimulator, to determine if the SCS is effective at decreasing or eliminating your pain. The trail leads remain in place up to one week. If the SCS trial has proved effective, you will be referred to a surgeon for placement of a permanent SCS.
